Why Become An Adoptive Parent?
There are many children across the State of Texas and the United States who are waiting for permanent, loving homes. By becoming an adoptive parent, you will be granting the most important wish for a child, their very own "forever family".

We are not looking for perfect families, just families who are willing to commit to a child for a lifetime.

We provide support to adoptive families on an ongoing basis through training and post adoption services. Some children are eligible for subsidy benefits through the State. We will help adoptive parents receive these benefits if the child qualifies.

First Step
Our adoption process begins with a one hour orientation. We offer orientation twice a month and by request. After our orientation, interested individuals, couples and families will submit their application, the attachments that go along with the application, and other supporting documents to our agency. Check the Training / Orientation schedule to RSVP.

Second Step
Individuals, couples and families are required to attend our Parent Resource Information Development Education (PRIDE) training offered through our agency. PRIDE training is offered in English or Spanish. We have PRIDE training twice a month.

If you are interested in our adoption training it can be taken for a fee if you are not an applicant of our agency.

If you would like to attend, please email or call (713) 864-5353.

Third Step
Everyone will be required to complete consent forms for background checks.  These are comprised of a criminal check through DPS, child abuse and neglect information through Central Registry and an FBI finger print check.

Fourth Step
After successfully completing PRIDE training, a case worker from our office will conduct a home study. We know this step may make you a little anxious. All courts require a home study before approving a home for foster care and/or adoption. The main focus of most of the courts in adoption and foster care is providing children a safe, stable and loving home.

Fifth Step
After your home study is approved, a child placement professional from our agency will begin working with you to find the right child for you.  Once the right child is found for your family, then a Sans Pareil Center case manager will provide services for your family for a six month period, or until the adoption is finalized.

Last Step
The last step is going to court. At our agency, we work with attorneys knowledgeable about the field of adoption law. We want to make the process as easy as possible. In many cases you will be offered reimbursement for your legal fees.

Types of Children
The children who are waiting to be adopted range in age from birth to 18 years of age and are of every race and gender. There are sibling groups and single children who are available for adoption.
